TENSES

Kalimat nominal adalah kalimat yang tidak memiliki kata kerja nyata. Dia hanya memiliki kata kerja penghubung yang berupa to be sebagai kata kerja utamanya misalnya am, is, are, was, were, be, been.

present continuous tense              : he is walking to school
present perfect tense                   : he has walked to school
present perfect continuous tense  : he has been walking to school
simple past tense                         : he walked to school
past continuous tense                  : he was walking to school
past perfect tense                       : he had walked to school
past perfect continuous tense      : he had been walking to school
future tense                                : he will walk to school
future continuous tense               : he will be walking to school
future perfect tense                     : he will have walked to school
future perfect continuous tense    : he will have been walking to school

Rumus  : if  +  Subject + verb 1/verb-s/es , subject + will +  verb 1

Contoh : if i have time, i will go to Jony's party
              i will go to jony's party if i have time

B. PRESENT CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
Rumus  : if + subject + verb 2 , subject + would + verb 1
              subject + would + verb 1 , if + subject + verb 2
Contoh : if i had time , i would go to jony's party
              i would go to jony's party if i had time


C. PAST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
Rumus  : if + subject + had + verb -3 , subject + would / could / might + have + verb- 3
              subject + would / could / might + have + verb-3 , if + subject + had + verb-3
Contoh  : if she got the money ,  she would have bought a car
              if you had won the speech contest , you would have got the prize

USE OF THE VERB "WISH"

Contoh : i wish i were rich

A. FUTURE WISH

Rumus  : subject + wish + that + could/would + ver-1

             subject + wish + that + were + verb-ing

contoh : i wish that you could help me finish this work

             he wishes that he were staying here

B. PRESENT WISH

Rumus  : subject + wish + (that) + subject + simple past tense

contoh : i wish that i had enough time to finish my thesis

             we wish that they visited us soon

C. PAST WISH

Rumus : subject + wish + (that) + subject + had + verb 3(past perfect)

             subject + wish + (that) + subject + could have + verb-3

contoh : i wish that she had finished her study last month

             he wishes that her wife could have been there
